On Sunday, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) will unveil its “road test” of autonomous vehicles in the U.S. and will release the results of its tests in a public forum at 8 a.m.
ET on Thursday.
The agency has been working on the road tests since 2015.
The NHTSA has previously released a series of public road tests that it calls “road-test videos,” but in the last year the agency has launched a series titled “Road Test Videos: The Road Test” that includes the latest autonomous vehicle tests conducted by the NHTS and the automakers involved.
The goal of the new video series is to highlight the important differences between autonomous vehicles and other types of vehicles and how they compare to humans.

How do autonomous vehicles compare to other types the NHS is testing?

NHT safety experts have been using self-driving vehicles in some of the most dangerous places on the planet: the highways, at airports and other locations where people need to use the roads safely.
In other instances, they’ve been driving at speeds exceeding 60 miles per hour (100 km/h), on some highways, and in some urban environments.
The safety improvements are important because the NHDSA says that autonomous vehicles may cause crashes, including when traveling at high speeds.
The first road test in 2018 ended with the crash of a semi-truck traveling over a median barrier at 55 miles per day (88 km/hr).
The crash killed one pedestrian and seriously injured another.
The crash was also caught on camera by a motorist’s dashboard camera, which shows a red light, a trucker’s vehicle in front of it and the driver in the backseat of the truck, both of whom were wearing seat belts.
But the NHCSA has not released the video footage, and the NHHS has not announced when it will release it.
What are some of those different safety advantages?
The most important difference between driverlessness and other cars is that it is much safer than other types that are already on the roads.
The car on the right is a Toyota Prius, a driverless car that has been tested on the highway in the United States, Canada and Japan.
The Prius was involved in a crash in 2019 and a second time in 2021 that killed one person and seriously wounded another.
In that crash, the Prius driver was not wearing seat belt and he had a blood alcohol level of 0.17.
The accident happened in Michigan, which has the highest number of fatal and serious crash-related crashes in the nation, according to the National Safety Council.
In 2021, the Toyota Priuses were involved in at least three fatal crashes in Michigan.
In each of those crashes, the driver was driving in a manner that put other road users at risk, including children and the elderly.
NHPAS says that it has not yet been able to get all of the data collected in the road testing to compare how the car on YouTube is different from a human driver versus the Priuses on the left.
But there are a few notable differences.
For example, the video shows the driver on the Prios in front, but not on the driverless Prius in back.
There is no vehicle on the ground.
There are no children or the elderly in the video.
The driverless vehicle is a big truck with four doors.
The Toyota Priuss has a small driver in front with the passenger in the passenger seat.
The truck has a front-facing camera, while the driver of the Priuss is looking in the rearview mirror.
The video shows a white truck on the shoulder, but the Priis has a yellow light on the side of the car and a red flashing light on top of it.
NHCST has not issued a release date for the next road test.
What about the safety benefits of driverless vehicles?
The safety benefits are great, but there are some safety risks that are inherent in driverless driving.
For instance, autonomous vehicles are not equipped with a front camera.
The problem is that drivers may not be able to see that the other cars are there.
There could also be a possibility that the driver may get distracted by other cars and that the collision could happen before the safety car has seen the other car.
And if there are any other vehicles in a collision, the other vehicles could be more likely to hit the other vehicle, potentially causing a crash.
