Tidal, a streaming music service with a focus on French artists, announced that it has agreed to purchase the French artist desk for an undisclosed amount.
According to the press release, the deal was negotiated through an undisclosed third party.
According to the release, Tidal will acquire the desk for $1.5 billion, which will be divided between French artists and Tidal.
Tidal has already paid out $6.3 billion to French artists since its launch in October 2016.
“The French artist desks are the most popular online platform for French artists,” said Yves Boucault, Head of Music and Arts at Tidal in a statement.
“Their audience is huge, and they will help us in our mission to bring French music to millions of users around the world.”
The deal will also see Tidal expand its Paris presence to include the Tidal Music Festival.
